Dr Usha Sawhney has been working as an Assistant Professor, in the Department of English at SMP Govt. Girls PG College, Meerut being recruited by UP Public Service Commission, Lucknow in 2008.
Dr Sawhney bags varied experiences with Corporates like Hutchinson Max, Ahmedabad & Escotel, Agra, and Private Academic institutions like Vidya Knowledge Park and Shobhit University, Meerut, and presently is working with Government College affiliated with CCS University, Meerut.
While working with the corporate sector Dr Usha Sawhney proved her expertise as a Retention Head and a Trainer of Field Officers for five years.
Groomed the students of Management and Engineering through Personality Development sessions witnessing a successful tenure of four years.
Dr. Usha Sawhney is teaching English literature to UG & PG students for the last twelve years helping them learn how to communicate in the English language as well through establishing English Speaking clubs.
She is the Editor of the annual college magazine, Meerut and Deputy-editor of the prestigious Bilingual Media Journal, COMMUNICATION TODAY, Jaipur. She has got approx. thirty research papers published in various National and International Journals inclusive of fields related to Literature, Media, and Gender Equality. She is a prolific creative writer who has composed poems and short stories in the Hindi language on the Openbooksonline platform.
Dr Sawhney has already got six books published, first one talks about the kingly issues of Shakespeare’s Historical Kings with the title of ‘The Monarchical Problems in the English History Plays of Shakespeare’, and the second one talks about various researches done by her while pursuing Orientation, Refresher and Faculty Development Programmes with a title of ‘Contemporary Dimensions: Literature, Social Media and Rethinking Gender’ and her third book talks about the women issues through real-life stories in the present scenario which contradict the big words being spoken for women empowerment with a title of ‘Her Life… !!! His Ways.. !!!’, The fourth book is “मैं और मेरे अल्फ़ाज़”, collection of poems in the Hindi language, followed by two more Hindi poetry books; ‘तेरे मेरे एहसास’ and ‘ज़िंदगी के रंग’.
She justifies her profile by active participation in UGC, IQAC, NAAC, and University Examination committees at her workplace. She is presently guiding four of her research scholars on varied themes.
Dr. Sawhney projects the human side of her personality through Social Welfare assignments being associated with Rotary Club Meerut Stars, Meerut and My City My Initiative, City Commissioner’s venture.
Dr. Sawhney is actively running a Webinar Series of Communication Today (A Quarterly Bilingual Media Journal) as an Organizing Secretary.
She has been the City Ambassador of a literary group as well with the name ‘Kahaniya Milange’.
She possesses a flair for cosmopolitan understanding being a ward of defence personnel which adds up a bold and enthusiastic feature to her personality. Her association with students is mesmerising as her efforts vibrate positivity in her students by inculcating a passion for creative writing in them.
