Dr. Smiti Padhi presently works as Assistant Professor, Journalism and Mass Communication at Fakir Mohan University, Balasore, Odisha. Apart from a decade-long teaching experience at both under and post-graduation courses of Mass Communication, Dr. Padhi has been actively involved in writing and presenting papers in more than 50 seminars and conferences at different universities across India.
She is the assistant editor of the popular communication journal- “Communication Today”.
During her stint at Swarnim Gujarat Sports University, Gujarat, she was editor of the university newsletter- ‘Vyayam Jyot’ and Co-editor of the journal ‘Vyayam Setu’- the international journal of Sports Sciences. She was actively involved as project coordinator and produced directed, edited, compeered around 100 episodes on sports which were aired through Vande Gujarat channel. And She was awarded the prestigious Chanakya award by the Public Relation Council of India, in the category of Sports Communication for the year 2019.
She has her YouTube channel by the name ‘Smiti Padhi’ which is popular amongst sports enthusiasts.
She has been associated as Project coordinator for round table conferences in Jaipur on- “Way to Development Journalism- Our roles” organized jointly by Centre for Mass Communication, University of Rajasthan and UNICEF-Rajasthan.
Her book on ‘Traditional Folk Media in India’ is a well sought after book amidst media students.
